Over the past year, the Planning Commission (PC) and Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has attentively worked on a an update to the 2011 Master Plan and have recently recommended the draft Plan to be considered by the Village Council for public distribution. Per Public Act 33 of 2008 as amended, the "Michigan Planning Enabling Act", the Village Council has charged with authorizing distribution of the draft Master Plan to the reviewing entities prescribed in PA 33 of 2008.
Within the next three (3) months, the PC and DDA will once again meet and hold a public hearing to consider any requests / comments / revisions made during the 63-day review period. Thus, any comments regarding the proposed 2050 Plan must be received by Friday, August 30, 2019. Following the incorporation of comments, the Village may continue the process for final Master Plan adoption by resolution.
